Do you know the origin of the Chinese nation?
About 4300 years ago, in the Central Plains of the Orient, which is in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the tribal alliance which was led by two great chiefs Yan-Di and Huang-Di, formed a great people. This people was named "Hua" which means flowers and beauty. In the 21st Century B.C., while the Flood swept across the whole world, the Hua people and their great hero Yu won the final victory through arduous struggles of dredging rivers. Later, Qi, the son of Yu, built the Xia Kingdom, the first dynasty of China. Since that time, the Hua people had another name "Xia" which means great. So this great people became known as the name "Huaxia". The Huaxia people were proud of their country, and called her "the Central Nation", which is called "China" by Westerners now. In the Western Han Dynasty which was created in 206 B.C., the Central Nation became one of the most powerful countries in the world. Other peoples at that time called the Huaxia people "Han". Because of this, Huaxia was also known by another name "Han", much the same in history as the Greek people was naming herself "Hellene", but Rome called this people "Greek".

The women of the Huaxia people were greatly famed for their faithfulness, mildness, perseverance and courtesy. They were also vigorous and graceful. They did their best to be a virtuous and wise wife as well as a loving and inculcating mother. They devoted themselves to keep a warm family and maintain their high moral principles. When I read their unwavering words "A faithful person doesn't replace public morality with personal love", I understand why the main principles of the Huaxia men were loyalty, faithfulness, propriety and righteousness. The Huaxia people had such great men, because there were such great women.

Beliefs, anchorites, fighting monarchs, fedual systems, the Classic of Poems, the contention of different schools in the Pre-Qin Era of China, are closer to the European society than the Confucianist China. Being based on humanistic principles, in this website, the stages of ancient Chinese history are distinguished as the age of myths (from the far remote times to the Shang Dynasty), the age of feudal states (the Zhou Dynasty) and the age of empires (from the Qin Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty). And you will know about the traditional clothing, architectural styles, medical science, proprieties and customs of the Chinese nation. You also will know how the Chinese civilization spread to Japan and Korea.
