In 2006, my English website was built. It expresses my thoughts and feelings. And I want to say, it shows my ideal, and it is the first step that I realize my dream.
Reading books about history and culture is my favorite thing all along. This feeling was from reading matters such as "All Five Thousand Years" and historical picture-story books in my childhood. When I was still a middle school student, I determined to read ancient originals of a long list. College life brought me an opportunity to do what I like to do. The first ancient book which I read was "The Zuo's Explanation of the Spring-Autumn Classic", and this book became the most important thing which influenced my heart and developed my philosophy. As I know, in the history, two men were most enthusiastic with the Zuo's Explanation. One was Liu Xin, the savant of the Western Han Dynasty, and the other was Du Yu, the general of the Western Jin Dynasty. So sometimes I joke that I am the third one of the most enthusiastic fans. The more content of my website is about the Pre-Qin Times, so you can see the position of this book in my heart. Why does the Zuo's Explanation has so mystical glamour? Because it expresses the great and noble principles which are unselfish, faithful, steadfast and chivalrous.
I am an introverted person. Maybe because of this kind of character, I can be deeply attached to ancient books, and delve into literal words for deep meaning. Many young persons think ancient books are boring, but these books become an important part of my life. They bring me pleasure or sadness. If you can understand ancient people, their feelings are also yours.
I always listen to ancient Chinese music, and appreciate their rightful and placid soul. By different ways, the ancient philosophy, medical science and music of our nation all show a same meaning-"moderate". This meaning is not conservative, because it denotes rational necessity in enterprising activities. But if someone is bigoted for the literal "moderate", and doesn't understand the deep meaning of this word, he will be conservative.
With my thoughts and feelings, and with my ideal of reviving our national principles and culture, I decided to build a website. Why do I create it in English? Because I think my English can be useful via writing. I have a long way for perfecting the website, and I believe my ideal will be realized in the future.
